Tomato Chilli Ginger Wontons with Soy and Sesame Dipping sauce

Ingredients

10 to 15 wonton wrappers (get it from Chinese shops)

Flour paste (water and flour)

Oil for deep-frying

Filling:

2 large chicken breasts, cooked and shredded

½ cup All Gold Tomato & Garlic Pasta Sauce

1 tsp chilli, finely chopped

1 tsp sugar

1 tsp ginger, finely chopped

1 tbsp fresh coriander, finely chopped

Sauce:

¾ cup soy sauce

3 tbls honey

1 tsp All Gold Tomato Paste

1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

1 tsp finely chopped spring onion


Preparation Method

1. Heat the oil to approx. 180°C.
2. Mix the filling ingredients together.
3. Wontons: place 1 tsp of filling in the centre of each wonton. Brush the outsides with a little flour paste. Pull up the ends to the middle and press tightly to fasten the ends. Fry in the heated oil until light golden brown, drain on paper towel and serve with the dipping sauce.
4. Dipping Sauce: Heat soya sauce, honey and tomato paste together and whisk until tomato paste is stirred in properly. Fold in the spring onion and sesame seed and allow to cool.

Chef's tip: If you can’t find wonton wrappers, then use spring roll pastry and cut into squares!
